Ed Chavez mulling Solis' seat

What happend to all that "I just want to serve the people of the San Gabriel Valley on water issues" tripe.

Sheesh. We elected this guy only so he could keep the Board seat warm long enough until he could run for something "better".....shoot the Upper District in the foot by removing Tony Fellow from the No. 2 position of the MET board.

I'm getting really sick of these "professional poiticians" who don't seem to do anything productive with themselves unless their sucking some sort of public agency or public board stipend.

The support and funding you had in your State Assembly runs will not be there this time around. Do yourself a favor....stay with the water board. By all means a friendly tip.

Ed, you are lucky to have won for Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District. You are a fool if you think you can win for Congress. You could not even keep your wife on city council and you lost for school board. You filled for bankruptcy while running for office wasting money on plastic surgery for you and you wife and now you want to run for congress? Please Ed save yourself the embarrassment once again

There were a good number of us told everyone that Mr. Chavez is hungry for a job courtesy of the taxpayers.

I am glad someone from the San Gabriel is for Congress. Ed Chavez you have my vote.

Looking at the area that Mr. Chavez represented over the years only makes sense that he would be the best candidate to run for this congressional seat. I wish him luck as my family and I have always supported him.

This is going to be a tough election for anybody to win. Judy Chu will raise the most money in this race and Gilbert Cedillo may do the same. But as a real vote, money doesn't buy my vote. My vote goes to the best candidate and that is Ed Chavez.

I liked Ed as my assembly member. He didn't get a whole lot done, but he also didn't screw up either. I also like him personally, as well.

With that said, he's a horrible, repeat horrible candidate for the congressional seat. The only thing that makes him remotely palatable is that many of the other candidates are worse; rubio, cedillo and formerly romero make chavez look like the next coming of congressman rayburn.

Don't run ed. Don't even seriously consider it. Let me keep my positive memories of you.

Ed, we did not want Renee back on the council. Save what little respect you have here in LP. Do not run. You and your wife should retire and leave politics.

Ed Chavez is our best hope to have a real representative of the San Gabriel Valley working for us. Not an East L.A. politician that will suck our tax money out of our Valley for projects on the West Side of L.A. County.

To the Ed Chavez Congressional Exploratory Committee - Don't bother. In fact, work on just keeping him on the water board because he is already screwing things up there. Instead, explore on getting this boy a real job - at least his fellow boardmember and now MWD director Bill Robinson delivers pizza. But, hey, who needs real jobs when you both live at your mommy's homes.

Urging Ed Chavez not to run? What is wrong with you people?

In these dire economic times, where happiness and joy are hard to come by, nothing would brighten my day more than seeing a waste of elected flesh/do-nothing politician like Ed Chavez lose again.

And if his campaign is as strong as his press release (“Ed Chavez is looks at running” and “I will work with my supports”), one can be sure that he will be completely embarrassed again.

Sacramento politics is all messed up. I wish Ed Chavez was still there. At least he can help clean up Washington D.C. for us. Good luck Ed, we need you.

Why do you think Sacramento politics are so messed up, because of the legacy left behind by idiots like Chavez. The last place we need him is in D.C.

Ed and his wife filed for bankruptcy, took advantage of city and state issued credit cards to take fancy trips,and was caught coming out of a Sacramento area Motel 6 at 4:00 am with a "guest". His explanation? He was having a business meeting. Right.

What a foul, terrible man.

Ed Chavez was elected by the people and not by a bunch of politicians in a smoked filled room. He speaks for the people and that is why I will vote for him again.

I worked for a legislator years ago. To straighten out a lie, State Senators and Assemblymembers are not issued credit cards.

Having Barack Obama come in as our President gives us all hope. That is why we need Ed Chavez to run for office. He gives us hope when other politicians created this mess we are now in.

Ed Chavez is part of the problem. His aim is to be a career politician and his wife is just along for the ride, enjoying state dinners and lavish vacations.

When you google "reasons for term limits", Ed Chavez's name and mug appears.

Again, for the record. The State of California does not pay for any travel by State Senators or State Assemblymembers. The only example is when a member of the legislature needs to travel to the State Capitol and back to their district. Whether you like or dislike Mr. Ed Chavez, please at least get your facts straight.

Why do you continue to write falsehoods about state lawmakers? Again for the record, state lawmakers do not, I repeat, do not charge meals to taxpayers. They can't. My boss would pay for the meals herself as did others. You make them all look bad. Please educate yourself before you make these wild stories up.

Yeah, they don't charge meals to taxpayers...instead, they have it paid for by special interest groups. Lavish travel, expensive meals, gifts...they are all part of the package. Of course, "they" profess that this in no way influences their decisions - bull!

I have known Ed Chavez longer than most people. He is a family man and cares about his community. He will always have my vote.

I have known Ed Chavez for years. He is a career politician who takes in money from lobbyists and then uses the money for lavish vacations and expensive dinners. He will never have my vote.
