The state of La Verne

First of all, good riddance! La Verne is a joke. It's the only city I've known that has $90,000.00 allocated tax dollars set aside for play structures lol. What about repaving the city streets that are falling apart and the uneven sidewalks? Stop promoting people to have more kids screaming in these ridiculous parks that are positioned behind homes of tax payers. La Verne is overran with undisciplined kids and police officers that turn the other cheek and allow the kids to take over and destroy this once quiet and reserved city. Many have moved away from La Verne due to the lousy way it's ran. It's time for a new mayor that will spend tax dollars more appropriately and respect homeowners that are already struggling in this horrible economy.

Is the City Of La Verne ever going to stop promoting unruly kids? Is the new governor in office yet? Close up the parks, save a LOT of money and aggravation. It's not the 1980's anymore. Stop spending precious money on wasted projects.

I like La Verne. A lot. Maybe I don't get out among 'em as much as I could, but the city seems very well run to me. Fire and police are responsive and seem to have all the tools they need to do their jobs. Traffic is controlled. Shopping and services convenient. Schools well managed. The city council seems better than most because their roots go deep in the community, generations even, and the city is actually home to them rather than some political stop on their way to higher office. We seem blessed somehow weather-wise. Depending on the season we are warmer or colder than our neighbors, less afflicted by damaging wind and rain and free from flood, mud, and at least recently, from fire. It may not be much to you, but it is Lovely La Verne to me and mine.

sounds like someone bought a home next to a park (school, airport, mall, bus stop etc) and now blame the city for thier choice of home location. how about some self-responsibility>

Wow, you guys do not have a clue regarding the city you live in! If you compare the city of La Verne to some of the surrounding cities in the valley it is very obvious that La Verne is run very well! You never see our city in the paper becuase our city council can not get along or a council member was arrested for disordly conduct! We are fortunate to have a city council that works very well together for the best interest of its citizens. You also obviously have an issue with kids, and like sgvd said, you probably live near a park or school (where kids belong!), that is just a fact of life that you need to deal with or move! If the city were to close the parks down where will the kids have to go that play organized sports? or where will they have to go to just play? They will just end up wandering the streets (probably yours), and just bother you even more! and then you blame the city for it. Yeah...that makes sense???
