District Attorney receives West Covina complaint
Dave Demerjian, head of the District Attorney's Public Integrity Division, said on Tuesday that it received a complaint filed on Friday by Mayor Roger Hernandez, who is alledging that West Covina City Council is gifting public funds. Hernandez himself voted for this development deal, but later tried to change his mind. He failed because there was no quorum. (Background here.)
Demerjian said the office is reviewing it, which is how all complaints all handled. He wouldn't say whether he thinks there is any meat to this complaint. Will follow up if the D.A. decides to prusue or dismiss it...
Roger Hernandez is trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
Especially since he has a pending FPPC investigation into his campaign activities and conflict of interest.

Well let's see who is lying? If that is all made up the the other four council members should not worry. On the other hand if back room deals were made, then they better clean out their emails and return all campaign donations... Real quick!!! Big brother is watching!!! The nasty truth will come out. Anonymous this is not a criminal complaint it's a complaint about the process. All 5 Councilmembers voted for it. The Staff report, The City Attorney and the outside consultant all came to the same conclusion that everything is fine. Waiting for the Truth. Maybe the DA should vote on every project in a city and then they would learn no matter what side you are on people will say stuff. Remember there's people on both sides so every vote some one dosen't get there way that's the process, someone wins and someone loses. Are they reviewing the Ziad Alhassen deal that waived $700,000. from the previous council did and the deal for $3,500,000. in more additional dollars with no appraisal? Did Mayor Roger question this deal? No! He voted for it! Then Ziad gave him a car deal!
The real question and investigation should be about the following:
Why DID Hernandez change his mind? No new information, nothing changed since he voted for it.
Was it something someone didn't DONATE to change his mind?
HMMM

Investigate? As a resident of your city don't you read up on the deals that go through the city? Rudy if you are so concerned about the well being of the community it's the least you can do.
All city deals go through a process that is open and public. Stop making accusations that are out right lies.
Step up Rudy and get your butt to a meeting. You know nothing about your city council.
This investigation is a waste of taxpayers money. Everything is reportable. Check it out for yourself and stop wasting my money!!
Let's investigate Roger Hernandez by starting with developers and what he tries to get out of them.
Hernandez was so sick he had to leave the council meeting early, but was talking in the parking lot to people 30 mintues later!! I guess he did not want to go on the record and make tough budget decisions. He will claim was not part of the conversation so he can't express an opinion.
Roger's problem is simple - he is a dishonest person who expects to be paid to play. When he can't get his way, which impacts his bribe income, he says everyone but him is being paid-off. If Roger is correct, then he is the dumb one for not getting his piece with the others. Again, Roger can't play well with others - he wants everything, does not want to share in the kick-backs.
By the way - all but the parts about Roger are tongue in check comments.
Roger Hernandez was rushed to the hospital after having a mental breakdown. He called 911 after he had a panic attack in his car.
This guy is on medication for his anxiety attacks.
Sources say he was hospitalized and placed under anti-depressants.
