La Puente adopts marijuana law
The city is allowing only six marijuana dispensaries, according to a law passed Tuesday night.
The council unanimously passed the ordinance, which also calls for security at dispensaries.
The law is similar to those passed in other cities, but there is an interesting aside to this one.
Mayor Louie Lujan and council members Nadia Mendoza and Dan Holloway in 2006 took about $4,000 in contributions and mailers from the political action committee "Coalition for a Safe and Clean Environment," which is mostly composed of people dedicated to the legalization of marijuana. The friends on the PAC's myspace page was full of marijuana-related organizations.
And Lujan's little brother, Philip, was among the leaders of the PAC. Lujan has repeatedly said the PAC's donation had nothing to do with his votes on marijuana issues.
I don't suppose it's any different than a council member voting on a development after taking money from a developer, which happens all the time.
Thanks for bringing drugs to the community Louie! Can't you get arrested for having marijuana? What are we teaching kids at school when we tell them it's illegal and then open up drug stores?

Dan Holloway has ties to the owners of the marijuana shop on Amar. Why did HIS city manager approve them on the fast trak after he complained???? he is the king of la puene.
This is my third attempt to putting a comment on this blog,why does it seem that you are only taking the negative comment,were people are just smashing people.
I will try mine again, I think it is a great thing that someone is stepping up to the plate,to help the people in our community that need the help. Medical Marijuana is not an Illegal Drug it is a source of Medication for people with illness.Instead of smashing everyone on the councils,why don't you all go get educated more on the Medical Marijuana issues.
John Solis is tied to Trinity Wellness and the Touhey Medical Marijuana Collective. TWO clinics. TWO! that Solis has friends at. He is collecting money from each.
La Puente is foolish. At least here in WC we export the marijuana to LP so its not in our city.

I think people need to be educated to the fact that marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana is an herb and a flower. God put it here. If He put it here and He wants it to grow, what gives the government the right to say that God is wrong?
This is funny i went to city hall this morning.To my surprise or NOT..the only one who got money from the drug lord is LOUIE DAN NADIA DR HERNANDEZ.Why do these names always appear NEXT TO CRUPTION but i do give HOLLOWAY credit for trying to stop it and he and SOLIS for regulating them.But we must remember everyone needs to know your council people they vote on all maters some good some bad,This is who we chose to run the city.If you dont like it dont complain RUN
Ok, so tell me if I got this right. The "group" has many people donating money to them as a political action committee. One member or donor is an advocate for "Mary Jane.". This is out of many other people who are not or we do not know. Later this group donates to a Candidate. Which now means that Candidate supports are dear Ol' Mary Jane. I get it!!!

Dan Holloway is in the pocket of the City Manager. He brought her in now he is having her approve his pot clinics.
Records show that Holloway accepted $2500 from Josi Kenline (now LP city manager) during the 2007 election.

Jamime Casso the city attorney is billing the city over $800K per year. The DA and the FBI are looking into Casso and his billing practices.
