So the big television taping is this weekend, And I found out that this is also going to be a benefit to help raise funds for a group called The Life Group LA. The Life Group LA is a group of people dedicated to the education and emotional support of people both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Here's the press release below.
Hollywood, CA (December 23, 2010) - January 8, 2011 isn't just another KDOC-TV taping for "NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood", it's the beginning of a new program to help non-profit's get their message out and raise much needed funds for their organizations. Throughout the upcoming year, producers hope to present different charities on their broadcasts starting with The Life Group LA.
"We've been thinking about this concept for a while actually and the reason we're running with it stems from last month's on-air mention of the 'Papa Didios Foundation' and that lead to several groups contacting us and seeing how we could work with one another. We hope that our viewers will embrace these causes by showing up to our live events because they will benefit from the purchase of a ticket," said NWA Executive Producer David Marquez
"I am thrilled that The Life Group LA is being supported and highlighted by The NWA for the work we do in the HIV/AIDS Community. Both our organizations are wrestling a cause and are passionate about giving back to the people that we serve. HIV affects everyone and is still on the rise. NWA is giving us the chance to educate and inform a community that may feel they are not a risk, or feel they have nowhere to go," states The Live Group LA Executive Director Sunnie Rose

Shane Michael Kidder, creator of a Web site of his photos that receives nearly 2 million hits a month from around the world, has learned many lessons in his time photographing wrestling, the most important one being “watch where the wrestlers are going.” This comes after almost being knocked out by a wrestler diving out of the ring at his first show in 2003 at a Golden State Championship Wrestling event in Newhall, Calif. Born in Northridge and still living in the San Fernando Valley, he spends most of his time working on his Web site in preparation for the next wrestling event.
