A week after the draft and a day after Night of Champions PPV WWE Raw
was still with out a champion. A week ago Monday WWE Champion
Triple H was drafted to WWE Smackdown taking the title with him,
leaving Raw with out a champion and Smackdown with 2 champions.
Many hoped that last night PPV would changed that but it was not to be
as Triple H retained his title against John Cena and Smackdown star the
World Heavyweight Champion "the Rated R Superstar" EDGE retained his
title against Raw star Batista which left raw still without a champion,
However all of that was about to change.

"The Rated R Superstar" EDGE came out on raw to interrupt and
mock New Smackdown announcer Jim Ross farewell speech to the Raw fans
as he moves over to Smackdown. Batista was sitting the back had heard
enough and decide to make his presence felt as he destroyed EDGE
leaving him wounded in the ring.

Enter CM Punk and his "Money in the Bank" title shot, charged the
ring holding the briefcase containing the contract he decide it was
time to cash it in. Punk made quick work of EDGE hitting the GO2SLEEP
and pinning him to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. I'm
not sure what is funnier to me; the fact that EDGE stuck his foot
in him mouth and got his but kicked for it or the fact that he lost the
title much in the same way that he got it, waiting for the
perfect opportunity and cashing in the Money in the Bank contract after
the champ has already been in a hard fought battle. Whatever the case
maybe Raw has a Champion.
For the first time an a long time there will be a match that may rock
the wrestling world. Two major wrestling groups put their world
heavyweight titles on the line in a unification match as NWA World
Heavyweight Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce fights against Ring of
Honor World Heavyweight Champion Nigel McGuinness in Dayton Ohio on
June 27,2008.

This match in my opinion is going to be awesome the, hard hitting
action Nigel McGuinness, the old school of Adam Pearce this has the
potential to be a match of the year candidate.
Here's a preview from the NWA Shows this weekend:

NWA PRO WRESTLING PRESENTS
Official EWF & AWS Previews:
by Marco Nelson

Friday June 20, 2008
Empire Wrestling Federation
"Old Town Showdown"
La Puente Restaurant
136 1st St. "Old Town"
La Puente, CA
Belltime 8:00PM
www.empirewrestlingfederation.com

EWF makes its debut in a brand new venue in the historic "Old Town" part of the city of La Puente. In addition to being the beginning of a new era for EWF, this Friday marks the beginning of a huge weekend for the dual EWF and AWS Champion Scorpio Sky! Sky has a shot at both the AWS Tag Team Titles and the crown jewel of them all, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. But first he has an EWF Title defense and an opponent that he cannot overlook.

EWF Championship Match
Champion: Scorpio Sky
Challenger: Joey Ryan (w/C. Edward Vander Pyle)
Scorpio Sky is not the only wrestler with a weekend full of opportunity. Joey Ryan finds himself with opportunities to take the EWF Championship and the NWA Heritage title. Since Ryan and his tag team partner Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson lost the NWA Worlds Tag Team Championship back in February, Joey Ryan has made every attempt to gain singles gold in the very first company he ever wrestled in - EWF. After a near miss against then champion Brandon "Nitro" Gatson, Ryan has earned another shot with victories over Frankie Kazarian and the now former champion Gatson.

Will Scorpio Sky start the weekend off with a successful defense?
Will Joey Ryan finally capture singles gold in EWF?
Will Vander Pyle care more about Ryan's title hunt or softening up Sky for Saturday night's NWA World Title Match?

Women's Wrestling Action
Candice LeRae vs. Aiden Riley
There is little doubt that Candice LeRae is one of the premier women's wrestlers in all of SoCal. This Friday she faces a new challenge as she takes on the much-lauded Aiden Riley in Riley's debut professional match. For months Riley has been in intense training at the NWA/EWF School of Hard Knocks and in La Puente she makes her highly anticipated debut. Can LeRae overcome the unknown or will Riley make her mark on the sport of kings by introducing us to a new queen of the ring?

Espiritu Infernal & Mercurio Jr. vs. Evan Jelic & Jeremy Jaeger
EWF's future will be showcased in this exciting tag team encounter. Rising lucha stars Espiritu Infernal and Mercurio Jr. have spent most of their young careers facing bigger opponents and using their speed and skills to their advantage. This Friday they find themselves evenly matched in the size and quickness departments as they take on the tandem of Evan Jelic and Jeremy Jaeger. Air Traffic Control has been warned: any unregistered blips on the radar over La Puente will probably be from this match!

All this, plus much more EWF action!

Saturday June 21, 2008
SoCal Pro Wrestling
Boys & Girls Club
401 Country Club Ln
Oceanside, CA
Belltime: 7:00PM
www.socalprowrestling.com

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title Match
Champion: "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce (w/Vander Pyle)
Challenger: Scorpio Sky
Scorpio Sky's huge weekend will see him have a once in a lifetime chance at becoming the Heavyweight Champion of the World. But to climb to the top of the mountain he will have to do what 9 months worth of competitors couldn't do - take the title from Adam Pearce! Many argued Adam Pearce's credibility due to the controversial manner in which he won the title in Puerto Rico last September. And while many of Pearce's defenses have seen additional controversies, none can doubt that Pearce has been a true fighting champion defending the belt throughout the NWA against stars such as Brent Albright, TJ Perkins, Damian Wayne, Sean "X-Pac" Waltman, Sicodelico Jr., Gary Valiant, Lil' Cholo, Babi Slymm and more. Pearce has even brought the title to non-NWA organizations such as SoCal Pro and his highly publicized upcoming bout in ROH against their heavyweight champion Nigel McGuiness. Pearce will be making a huge mistake if he looks past the hotter than hot Scorpio Sky while Sky is at risk of splitting his focus by accepting three huge matches in one weekend. Most challengers only get one shot and Sky had better be ready for his!

Sunday June 22, 2008
Alternative Wrestling Show
"Bart's Birthday Bash"
AWS Shop
19650 E. San Jose Ave
City of Industry, CA
Belltime: 4:00PM
www.alternativewrestlingshow.com

AWS Kingpin Bart Kapitzke likes his birthday. No, really, he does. He likes it so much that every year since the inception of AWS he has held a birthday bash featuring some of the biggest matches of the year. Bart's 29thish Birthday Bash will be no exception as a triple main event has been signed!

Main Event #1 - Steel Cage Lucha Libre Grudge Match
Pilota Suicida vs. Shamu Jr.
There is no nice way to put it. These two men have beaten the living crap out of each other every time they have stepped into an AWS ring. No one is sure how it started. No one is sure what their beef is. All anyone knows is that Pilota Suicida vs. Shamu Jr has become the most intense, angriest and bloodiest feud in the NWA. This Sunday it all comes to a head as a 15 foot high steel cage will be erected to try and contain the carnage. If you watch only one steel cage lucha libre grudge match this year, make it this one!

Main Event #2 - AWS Tag Team Title 4-Way Dance
Champions: The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin)
Challengers: The Ballard Brothers (Shannon & Shane)
Challengers: The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson)
Challengers: AWS Champion Scorpio Sky & ????
So many questions to be answered before the match even begins. Will Bart decide to make this one fall to a finish or an elimination match? How many titles will Scorpio Sky hold after defending the EWF Title on Friday and battling for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title on Saturday? What shape will Sky be in after those contests and who will his mystery partner be? How much jetlag will the Young Bucks be suffering from after their highly successful tour of Dragon's Gate in Japan? Will the Ballards wear their traditional Canadian colours or those hideous neon green outfits they occasionally show up in? Will the upstart Cutler Brothers maintain their cockiness in the face of overwhelming odds? If you watch only one 4-Way Dance for the AWS Tag Team Titles this month, make it this one!

Main Event #3 - NWA Heritage Title Match
Champion: TJ Perkins
Challenger: Joey Ryan (w/Vander Pyle)
On June 1st, at the debut NWA Pro/Mach 1 Wrestling event in Santa Ana, TJ Perkins joined a very short list that only includes current Worlds Heavyweight Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce and the iconic Sean "X-Pac" Waltman when he captured the NWA Heritage Championship. Now Perkins must make his first defense against a man has given him many troubles in the past, Joey Ryan. Ryan and Perkins have had several jaw dropping contests that usually see Ryan come out on top with his feet planted on the ropes for leverage. Do not expect Perkins to fall for such shenanigans now that the prestigious NWA Heritage Title is on the line.

All this plus...

Scott Lost defends the AWS Light Heavyweight Title against Jerome "LTP" Robinson!

5 Big Guys in Masks (and one who maybe should be) - Los Chivos & Skulu vs. Plague, Extreme Loco & Black Metal

Aaron Aguilera in Action!

Women's Wrestling Action!

Sonny Samson vs. CK Jackson!

MIKASA TACOS!!!!!!!!!!!

A Battle Royal featuring: "White Trash" Johnny Webb, Lil' Cholo, Mikey Nicholls, Jason Watts, Charles Mercury, "Awesome" Lee Dawson, Willie "Yeah Dat" Mack, Sexy Chino, Ray "Biggie Biggs" Murillo, "The Golden Greek" Marcius Pittsonopolis, Johnny Goodtime and more!

It's a weekend full of action and title matches! Who will come out on top when all is said and done? Be there to find out!

All cards and talents subject to change

When I walked through the curtain to head out the ring to check out the
lighting for the night I was in awe of the Phillips Arena and the
wrestlers who were going to be on the show.

I have always been a
big NWA fan growing up and here I was about to photographed several of
the wrestlers I grew up watch, cheering on and booing every weekend at
3:05 watching TBS to say that this felt like a dream was an under
statement. As I've photographed several wrestling shows that were held
in arenas over the past 5 years but this is the first time since my
first arena show that I had to stop and just look around. It was
just intimidating; I'm not sure if it was the sheer height of the
building or who was on the show but I was just in shock.

The
show opened up with a video of NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Scrap
Iron" Adam Pearce thanking the fans of Atlanta for their support of the
NWA in the past and the future. He went on to talk about the reason
that he was not there and that he was "making history in Philadelphia",
but more on that in a blog to come.

The
first match of the night was Mike DiBiase vs. Idol Stevens for the NWA
North American Championship. DiBiase, The son of the "Million Dollar
Man" came out to a huge pop from the crowd. This was only the
second time I had seen Dibiase and the first time for Stevens. It
was a good match for both of them and an enjoyable contest for the fans
with saw Dibiase retain the title. The way these two preformed showed
that they have a bright future ahead of them in wrestling.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the next match because I had never seen any of the three wrestlers perform. It was Iceberg vs. Phil Shatter vs. Mikal Judas in a three-way for the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title. Iceberg won the match with a splash out of nowhere.

The moment of the night that I was looking forward to the most was up next; The 2008 NWA Hall of Fame induction. NWA Official Ricky O came out to the podium to introduce the Master of Ceremonies for the nights event; James E. Cornette. Cornette came out where his red jacket caring the tennis racket I had seen him use so many times as a kid on TBS. He talked about the old Omni and what the NWA meant to him.

As a surprise guest Cornette introduce the first inductee to next years Hall of Fame "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. He praised the NWA and what it meant to him and that they were going through resurgence. This set the pace of the hall of fame inductees' speeches as it was a common theme for all of them.

The inductees in order were Nikita Koloff, Iron Sheik, Corsica Joe accepting for the Corsica Brothers, the Midnight Express, and "Wildfire Tommy Rich. During Rich's acceptances speech, Abdullah the Butcher made his ringside to interrupt Rich's speech and to challenge him. All I have to say Abdullah freaks me out, as much today as he did when I was a kid.

At the beginning of the match Abdullah took a beer bottle, smashed it on the corner post and proceeded to stab Tommy Rich in the head with it. This was a violent and brutal match that saw the uses of a broken beer bottle, a fork, and a cane/staff with a spike in it. They brawled all around ringside destroying anything or anybody in their way. Refs, ringside people and photographers were not safe. At one point my friend and fellow cameraman Jeremy Schott was grabbed and stuck between the Rich and Abdullah as they attacked each other. In the end the match was ruled a no contest and never actually made it into the ring. This battle between these two men has gone on for years and to be hones I think that they will meet again.

The next match was a wrestling star fest as it was Sean "X-Pac" Waltman and Blue Demon Jr. vs. Rob Conway and Carl Ouelette in a tag team match. This happened to be one of my favorite matches of the night as it was a fast pace full of action match. Everyone brought the their A game, and it showed by the crowd reaction as they ate up every moment of it. The finish of the match saw X-Pac hit Rob Conway with the X-factor face buster.
The NWA World Lightweight Championship match featuring Mike Quackenbush vs. Ricky Vega was up next. The crowd was a little bit quiet at first but the warmed up to the two due to the fast pace high fly action of this match. The crowd loved every moment of this match; the finish of the match saw Mike Quackenbush beat Ricky Vega with submission to retain the NWA World Lightweight Title.

Three of the top tag teams in the fought for the NWA Tag Team World Championship as champs Los Luchas faced off against two former world tag team champions in the Naturals and Real American Heroes in an elimination match. The fans seemed to love this match as it featured high flying, impact moves the just seemed to connect with the crowd. The Real American Heroes were eliminated first when Andy Douglas snuck in illegally and hit a Karl Anderson with his finishing move and pulled one of the Luchas over for the pin. But the Heroes had the last laugh when the goaded Andy Douglas to leave the ring which lead to both of the Luchas rolling up Chase Stevens for the pin.

The next match was plain and simply a massacre as Sid Vicious destroyed Davey Boy Bling and Juicy Justin Corino of the Playas Club with little effort. At the beginning of the match saw NWA official Ricky O come out running down Sid and talking about how he's tired of Sid's complaints about not having enough competition so he brought the Playas Club to take care of Sid. Sid though had other plans, as he used a plethora of high impact moves and constant assault that the Playas Club did not stand a chance. Even as EMT loaded Davey Boy Bling on a stretcher Sid decided that he had not had enough and attack Bling on the stretcher. No matter what anybody thinks, the Sid of old is back and is creating a path of destruction in his wake.

I had some mixed feelings aboutthe main event match as it was a flash back in many ways to the wrestling that I grew up watching as the Rock n' Roll Express - Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson defeated the Midnight Express - "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey and "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton with James E. Cornette. These two teams have battled all over the country for over 20 years, matches featured on television several times. They battled for NWA Tag Team Championship, they battled for pride, and they battled for respect, for most of all they battled to see who was the best. The match was a traditional old school match, which saw almost everything that made these teams matches fun to watch, the crowd interactive, the constant cheating by the Midnight express and even James E. Cornette using the tennis racket. Just like seeing the new Indiana Jones movie where after you watch for a few minutes you forget where you are and what year it is and just enjoys a classic that harks back to your childhood.

MORE PHOTOS FROM NWA 60th Anniversary Show

Ok now this is just funny, I knew not to expect A list stars for this
show or even B list but come on this is just a little bit funny.
Here's the list that's circulating on the wrestling news boards:

Actor Todd Bridges from "Different Strokes" and "Everybody Hates Chris"
. I so hope that Gary Coleman come ring side and acts as the evil
manager.

Boxer and MMA fighter Eric "Butterbean" Esch - Butterbean has
appeared twice in WWE events He appeared at WrestleMania XV where he
fought Bart Gunn in a shoot fight. Butterbean knocked out Gunn out in
27 seconds.

Actor Dustin Diamond Most famous from "Save the Bell". I have
this odd feeling that Butterbean is going to end up knocking him out
after Diamond says the wrong thing to him.

Actress Erin Murphy who played Tabitha on the television show Bewitched

Singer and Actor Frank Stallone who scored a hit on the pop charts "Far
From Over" in 1983. At age 57 he is older than the rest of the
contestants.

Singer Tiffany Renee Darwish the 80s pop star with the hit song "I Think We're Alone Now"

And Playboy model Nikki Ziering.

I going to be watching this just for the sheer "accident"
factor. You know the type of thing you just slow down to
watch a car accident. What ever happens on the show you can be
sure it's going to be fun to watch.
I'm going to try and do this once a week and give you a show listing
for the upcoming weekend shows for local shows there is only one show
in the area this weekend that I know of and it's the PWG show in
Reseda. Here's the press release:

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Presents It's It (What Is It?) on Sunday, June 8, 2008!
By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer

San Simeon, CA - After Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's
(http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team
Title Tournament, Commissioner of Wrestling Dino Winwood was feeling a
little bit off. Slurred speech, swerving while walking or driving, loss
of appetite, dehydration, it was clear by the end of the day last
Monday that something was wrong. Which is why Dino waited until Tuesday
to get things checked out. Fortunate that he acted when he did, Dino
was diagnosed with suffering from acute Heat Exhaustion, and had he
waited just five more minutes before being submerged in ice to rapidly
cool his core temperature, he would have lost total functionality of
his brain. It was the first case of it's kind, where the symptoms
persisted over a series of days without catastrophic side effects, and
so serious that there will be an article about the newly named "Dino
Winwood Syndrome" in the August/September issue of the New England
Journal of Medicine and Carpentry (the premiere bimonthly publication
that competes simultaneously with both the New England Journal of
Medicine and This Old House).

Because of the commissioner's near-death experience, Dino has decreed
that no more Pro Wrestling Guerrilla events will be held during a
heatwave. Along with that, all venues will be required to provide
adequate ventilation and refreshment for the Commissioner and his
staff. While Dino has big plans for the way things will be run, due to
the bureaucratic nature of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, these changes will
not be implemented until 2011 at the earliest. As a stopgap measure,
Dino has scheduled It's It (What Is It?), taking place on June 8, 2008
at 5:00PM, to be held at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, which
is rumored to have an Air Conditioning unit on the premises, though the
validity of that statement has not been verified. It's It (What Is It?)
is scheduled to feature:

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Title Match
Jack Evans & Roderick Strong vs. Chris Hero & Necro Butcher (with Candice LeRae)

-- While Dino Winwood would have you believe he was the only one who
suffered during the DDT4 weekend, newly crowned PWG World Tag Team
Champions Jack Evans and Roderick Strong had to contend with not only
the heat, but also with three other teams vying for the right to call
themselves undisputed champions. After making it all the way to the
final round, only one team stood in the path of Evans and Strong, and
that was then-champions El Generico and "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen.
After a hard-fought battle that pushed both teams very nearly to their
breaking point, Evans and Strong were able to isolate Steen, score the
pinfall, and become twentieth Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team
Champions. This is Roderick's Strong's third reign as champion, and
Jack Evans' first.

With new champions crowned, the next logical step is to find
challengers for the title. However, at DDT4, all of the logical
contenders received an opportunity to, at the very least, earn a title
shot, so that leaves Dino Winwood with a tough choice. Does he make an
illogical decision, or just an unlikely one? Well, since both Necro
Butcher and Chris Hero have been chomping at the bit for a shot at Pro
Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion Human Tornado, and Tornado refuses
to vacate the title or release physical custody of the belt, Dino
Winwood had an epiphany. "Why not tell the two guys that want title
shots that they ARE getting a title shot, but just don't tell them
which title they're getting a shot at." Dino said to himself. Luckily
for Dino Winwood, on top of being allies, Chris Hero and Necro Butcher
know a huge opportunity when they see one, which is why on June 8 at
It's It (What Is It?), Hero and Necro intend on becoming the twenty
first Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champions!

Singles Match
Austin Aries vs. El Generico

-- After losing the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Titles at
DDT4, El Generico had become despondent, spiraling downward into a
world of tortas and horchata. Losing the titles for a near-record
fourth time, Generico was certain that his career could never get back
on track, so why not attempt to drown himself in a punch bowl filled
with thick, yogurt-y, flavorful refreshment? Fortunately for El
Generico and the wrestling world, Commissioner of Food & Beverage
Excalibur was on one of his company funded culinary research trips to
Mexico when he stumbled upon the generic luchadore covered from toe to
tip with Horchata, sputtering, and mumbling incoherently. Despite his
ill will toward El Generico's tag team partner Kevin Steen, over the
course of the last three days in a very touching scene reminiscent of
The Princess Bride where Fezzik nurses Inigo Montoya back to health,
Excalibur nursed El Generico back to health. And just as Generico was
about to return to his life a rehabilitated man, the Commissioner of
Food & Beverage dropped a bombshell. This treatment was not free.
Excalibur is not running a bed and breakfast out of his office. Someone
has to pay for this water, gruel and comprehensive medical care, and it
sure isn't coming out of the Food & Beverage budget. However, there
was a plan. A payment plan.

To work off his debt, El Generico would continue to wrestle for Pro
Wrestling Guerrilla, but every time he wins a match and "visits the pay
windah," his purse will be given to the office of Food & Beverage.
In order to expedite payment of Generico's debt, Excalibur has lined up
a series of matches that could very quickly put El Generico back into
title contention, and the first match in that series will take place on
June 8 against Austin Aries. Aries had two impressive performances at
DDT4, and despite losing to Davey Richardson Night 2, Austin Aries
finds himself on the periphery of the title hunt. A victory here over
former World Champion Generico could do wonders for Aries' ranking once
the title situation is resolved, but a victory for Generico could not
only help pay off his debt, but also return the generic luchadore to
the top of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Singles Match
"New Guy" Brandon Bonham vs. Davey Richards

-- "Sorry brah, surf's up! Maybe next time!" was the message left on
Dino Winwood's voicemail the day of DDT4 from Brandon Bonham, who, next
to Owen Steen, holds the best win-loss record in Pro Wrestling
Guerrilla today. The thought of fame and glory gained in gladiatorial
combat proved to be no match for the sea's siren song that day, and
just like legendary Bohdi, Brandon Bonham paddled out, and no one
thought to ever see him again. Which made his return to land among
light chop 45 minutes later all the more surprising. As it turns out,
surfing does not pay Brandon Bonham's bills, but wrestling does. Since
Bonham has six other days a week to dedicate to surfing, the least he
could do is spend one day earning enough to pay rent on his seaside
shack and keep the surf wax flowing. Disgusted at Bonham's laissez
faire approach to professional wrestling, Davey Richards has taken it
upon himself to teaching PWG's hottest prospect a very hard lesson. Men
like Davey Richards dedicate their life to the sport of professional
wrestling, and that lives room for little else, especially something as
trivial as surfing. In order to reach the apex of the professional
wrestling world, one must dedicate himself to the sport 100%. Will
Richards find an apt pupil in young Bonham, or will the "New Guy" teach
Davey to "relax, brah?"

Tag Team Match
The Dynasty (Scott Lost & Joey Ryan) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre)

-- Going in to DDT4 as one of the favorites, Scott Lost and Joey Ryan
were as surprised as everyone else to be eliminated by the debuting
team of El Blazer & KAGETORA. They were even more surprised when
they realized that Los Luchas, a team many believed to be underdogs,
had made it to the second round. Was it the lack of Jade Chung's
managerial guidance that lead to the loss, or was The Dynasty just
simply outwrestled by their Japanese competitors? Unwilling to take
this loss lying down, Scott Lost and Joey Ryan are setting their sights
once again on the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team titles, but so
are Los Luchas. Phoenix Star and Zokre were defeated in the second
round by eventual tournament winners Jack Evans and Roderick Strong,
and they would like nothing more to get a rematch, especially with the
titles on the line. With Jade Chung still recovering from her injury at
the hands of Super Dragon, The Dynasty will once again have to fight
this one on their own. Will their cunning and guile make up for the
advantage of speed and agility that Los Luchas have, or will their
missing manager prove to be the key to The Dynasty's success?

Singles Match
Hook Bomberry vs. Scorpio Sky

-- On the second night of DDT4, against doctor's orders, Scorpio Sky's
tag team partner Ronin made the gutsy (and in hindsight, ill-advised)
decision to attempt to compete. But prior to the beginning of the
match, Hook Bomberry flung a chair at Ronin's already injured knee,
taking him out of the match and putting the big man from Monrovia on
the shelf for an indefinite length of time. Looking to avenge his
fallen partner, Scorpio Sky will take on Hook Bomberry in singles
competition, an arena where Sky has proven himself to be highly
capable. With TJ Perkins out of the state on June 8, Hook Bomberry will
have to wrestle for the first time since returning to PWG without
backup. Will Hook be forced to reach into his bag of tricks in order to
gain a victory, or will the king of sting prove his supremacy in the
ring?

Plus more matches, Commissioner of Wrestling Dino Winwood and Commissioner of Food & Beverage Excalibur!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's It's It (What Is It?) takes place Sunday,
June 8, 2008 at 5:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA.
American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA

Tales from the Road : " Mason Jars and Christmas Carols"

One of the more interesting things about traveling with a wrestling company is what goes on after the show. It usually involves getting something to eat and heading back to the hotel, And this time it was no different except for one thing. When we got back to the hotel in Nashville there was a bunch of the people from the various wrestling companies sitting in the lobby having a good old time.

So Alex, Tommy, Vander Pyle, Dave and myself decided to hang out with them for a while even though Vander Pyle and myself do not drink. It was a trip listing to the stories from different groups across the world and watching them get drunk off their asses. It started off with cases of beer before one guys from one of the NWA groups pulled out a clear mason jar. You know the kind that you see on the Dukes Of Hazard television show used to carry moonshine in. I'm not going to say who drank out of the jar but I will say they started to get a little on the giddy side. And on the flip side you could tell that some were not even getting effected. Dave went to bed a little bit after getting there, being exhausted from the board meetings earlier in the day and show that night. I called it a night myself having to go through the photos of the days still I headed to the room get to work.

So I'm sitting at the computer at 4:00 in the morning when Vander Pyle walks in laughing his ass off.

"What's up?" I asked.

"About 14 of us," He started "snuck in to Dave's room while he was sleeping and woke him up with Christmas songs"

I just sat there not knowing what to say.

"And then we went into NWA Ireland's room , and the Ireland guys were doing flips from bed to bed, when Mean Mike decided that he wanted to try." Vander Pyle laughing
" he got up on the bed flipped onto the other bed and put his feet through the wall."

First thing through my mind was to make sure not to have any of the wrestlers jump on my hotel bed.

I flew out to Nashville for the NWA Convention with four primary goals
that I needed to complete; One to photograph the official handshake and
signing of the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) / Total Non-Stop Action
(TNA) Wrestling talent trade agreement. Second was to pitch and promote
the NWA Magazine to the members of the NWA which I helped design.
Third was to photograph three days of pro wrestling that included
wrestling styles from across the world. Fourth and finally just
to have fun and relax with my friends.

So C. Edward Vander Pyle and I land in Nashville and we are already off
to the races for the weekend. After we checked into the
hotel, we were off to or first destination; The TNA Offices for the
talent trade agreement signing between my friend and NJPW VP David
Marquez and TNA Official Terry Taylor.

To say I was in awe of Terry Taylor would be an understatement.
Here I was just shooting pro wrestling for a little bit over a year and
all of it in California where there was really no big names that I grew
up watch on television and now the Red Rooster himself is standing here
shaking my hand.

Growing up I remember sitting on my couch when would come out doing the
roster strut, with his manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Taylor would
always have the upper hand for most of the match until he turned to
Heenan to find out what to do next. This would always end in
disaster for Taylor, as his opponents would often roll him up for a
pin. This continued until Saturday's Main Event, where Taylor lost his
match against Tito Santana, which infuriated Heenan. Heenan
jumped into the ring and berates Taylor and punctuated it with a slap
to Taylor's face. Taylor became enraged and slapped him back and threw
him around the ring. He battle Heenan's evil forces till a match
at Wrestlemania where he when he final got his revenge on Heenan in a
match that lasted only 32 seconds.

And now here I am standing in front of him. It was all so surreal, real
wrestler from my childhood, I thought this would be the biggest high
light of my weekend little did I know what else was going to happen.

Well, It looks like good ol' HT is going to have a lot of time on his
hand. I recently injuried my knee with an ACL tear and dislocated
kneecap. It happen during the taping of JCW's Slam TV season 2 tour,
where I was to complete in a one on one match but got hurt before the
match even started. I knew it wasnt good once I landed and when I
returned home to get checked out it was just that. Doctor told me that
surgery will be need so I will be out of action for AT LEAST a year!
Dont really know how to handle such news as this as I am having a hard
time handling it. I understand that things happen so I am not totally
sad and I regret nothing. It just sucks that I cant do what I love for
a long while. But I do want to thank everyone that called and messaged
me these past couple of days. They've really helped me out a lot. And I
special thanx to ICP and the JCW crew. They took really good care of me
when the incident happen. As for now, I rest. I will keep everyone
updated on my status on my page. Until then, Thank You and God Bless
