All I can say is Trevor Murdock and Brent Albright are awesome.
While in Texas this past weekend I got a chance to see Murdock wrestle
Brent Albright for the National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight
Championship in what I would have to say is a match of the year
candidate for me personally. Normally I don't remember matches
since I'm focusing on getting the photo, But I was just in awe of
this match.

They pulled out all of the old school stops, Hiding a foreign object in
the turn buckle while his back was to the ref before the match
while talking to the crowd. They even pulled out a fake injury so
well that I was generally concerned, until Albright turned his
back on him and Murdock attacked getting the crowed wanting to kill him
for preying on their general concern for him. The match went back
and forth until the object became a part of the match.
Murdock loaded his elbow pad with a foreign object to and
hit the flying elbow for what everyone thought was the win and the
Championship.

As they were announcing him as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion;
Former WWE developmental contracted wrestler Ace Steel hit the ring to
right the injustice that he had just witness. Steel attacked Murdock
ripping off the elbow pad to expose the object to the ref decided to
restart the match which Albright quickly pick up the win to retain the
championship.

During the whole match they had the crowd eating out of their hands, it
was one of the most amazing sites I have seen in a while. Why the WWE
let go of these three men were beyond me as they are better than most
of what is on WWE television right now. In the first time in a
long time I was a fan.

I'll post photos of the whole event from this past Sunday tomorrow.
This is the first time the historic NWA World Heavyweight Title has changed hands in New York City. This was a rematch of the finals of the Tournament that crowned Adam Pearce champion in Puerto Rico.

The second big news item to come out of this weekend is that WWE and Hall of Famer Ric Flair. According to a press release from Elaine Gillespie of the Gillespie Agency, INC. that was posted on wrestlingfigs.com, Flair states;

"WWE and I parted on the best of terms. This gives me the chance to pursue new opportunities...corporate speaking engagements, product sponsorships, autograph shows for my loyal fans (who made me what I am today) and film and television roles. My agent and I are very excited about what the future holds!"

It will be interesting to watch what happens next for the Nature Boy.

In a pro wrestling world that is dominated by "sports entertainment"
and "smart marks", I begin to wonder what is happen to the days were
fans were fans and wrestling stories were told in the ring and not
through acting back stage.

When fans were able to enjoy the show unfold in front of them and not
look on the internet to find out what was going to happen next before
they even filmed it.

Where fans got their information from the several wrestling magazines
on the news racks that did their research and got their facts straight
and not from some website where they post half truths and non facts to
"break a story" that is not really a story.

Why does it matter what attendances was when they wrestlers and the
promoters but on a great show. Why can't people just enjoy
the show.
A week after the draft and a day after Night of Champions PPV WWE Raw
was still with out a champion. A week ago Monday WWE Champion
Triple H was drafted to WWE Smackdown taking the title with him,
leaving Raw with out a champion and Smackdown with 2 champions.
Many hoped that last night PPV would changed that but it was not to be
as Triple H retained his title against John Cena and Smackdown star the
World Heavyweight Champion "the Rated R Superstar" EDGE retained his
title against Raw star Batista which left raw still without a champion,
However all of that was about to change.

"The Rated R Superstar" EDGE came out on raw to interrupt and
mock New Smackdown announcer Jim Ross farewell speech to the Raw fans
as he moves over to Smackdown. Batista was sitting the back had heard
enough and decide to make his presence felt as he destroyed EDGE
leaving him wounded in the ring.

Enter CM Punk and his "Money in the Bank" title shot, charged the
ring holding the briefcase containing the contract he decide it was
time to cash it in. Punk made quick work of EDGE hitting the GO2SLEEP
and pinning him to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. I'm
not sure what is funnier to me; the fact that EDGE stuck his foot
in him mouth and got his but kicked for it or the fact that he lost the
title much in the same way that he got it, waiting for the
perfect opportunity and cashing in the Money in the Bank contract after
the champ has already been in a hard fought battle. Whatever the case
maybe Raw has a Champion.
For the first time an a long time there will be a match that may rock
the wrestling world. Two major wrestling groups put their world
heavyweight titles on the line in a unification match as NWA World
Heavyweight Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce fights against Ring of
Honor World Heavyweight Champion Nigel McGuinness in Dayton Ohio on
June 27,2008.

This match in my opinion is going to be awesome the, hard hitting
action Nigel McGuinness, the old school of Adam Pearce this has the
potential to be a match of the year candidate.

Here's link to a radio show that the two of them did together
