What Happen?

| | Comments (0) |
In a pro wrestling world that is dominated by "sports entertainment" and "smart marks", I begin to wonder what is happen to the days were fans were fans and wrestling stories were told in the ring and not through acting back stage.

When fans were able to enjoy the show unfold in front of them and not look on the internet to find out what was going to happen next before they even filmed it.

Where fans got their information from the several wrestling magazines on the news racks that did their research and got their facts straight and not from some website where they post half truths and non facts to "break a story" that is not really a story.

Why does it matter what attendances was when they wrestlers and the promoters but on a great show.   Why can't people just enjoy the show.

CM Punk Wins WWE World Heavyweight Title

| | Comments (0) |
A week after the draft and a day after Night of Champions PPV WWE Raw was still with out a champion.  A week ago Monday WWE Champion Triple H was drafted to WWE Smackdown taking the title with him, leaving Raw with out a champion and Smackdown with 2 champions.  Many hoped that last night PPV would changed that but it was not to be as Triple H retained his title against John Cena and Smackdown star the World Heavyweight Champion "the Rated R Superstar" EDGE retained his title against Raw star Batista which left raw still without a champion, However all of that was about to change.

"The Rated R Superstar" EDGE came out on raw to interrupt and mock New Smackdown announcer Jim Ross farewell speech to the Raw fans as he moves over to Smackdown. Batista was sitting the back had heard enough and decide to make his presence felt as he destroyed EDGE leaving him wounded in the ring.

Enter CM Punk and his "Money in the Bank" title shot,  charged the ring holding the briefcase containing the contract he decide it was time to cash it in. Punk made quick work of EDGE hitting the GO2SLEEP and pinning him to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.  I'm not sure what is funnier to me;  the fact that EDGE stuck his foot in him mouth and got his but kicked for it or the fact that he lost the title much in the same way that he got it,  waiting for the perfect opportunity and cashing in the Money in the Bank contract after the champ has already been in a hard fought battle. Whatever the case maybe Raw has a Champion.

About Slam Jam

Shane Michael Kidder, creator of a Web site of his photos that receives nearly 2 million hits a month from around the world, has learned many lessons in his time photographing wrestling, the most important one being “watch where the wrestlers are going.” This comes after almost being knocked out by a wrestler diving out of the ring at his first show in 2003 at a Golden State Championship Wrestling event in Newhall, Calif. Born in Northridge and still living in the San Fernando Valley, he spends most of his time working on his Web site in preparation for the next wrestling event.
