Ski rentals becoming more popular for destination skiers

Rentskis.com is the largest ski and snowboard rental service. It offers more shops and rental facilities at slopeside locations in most major western resort ski villages.

Free direct-to-lodging delivery service maximizes the convenience of the rental. Mountain resorts offering the free delivery service include Vail, Beaver Creek, Aspen, Breckenridge, Snowmass, Telluride and Winter Park, Colorado as well as Park City, Utah and Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. New for 2013-14, three new shops offering Rentskis.com services will be open at Canyons Resort near Park City.

If a renter want to change their gear for changing conditions or simply needs an adjustment to their settings, they can visit any shop with the Rentskis.com sign and have an equipment tech assist with changes.  Or, if the renter wants a different length or size, or their skill level is progressing rapidly, a gear change for any reason can be made quickly and efficiently.

Skiers can pick up their rental gear at any one of the participating resorts*—and return it any other participating Rentskis.com location.  The free, “no drop fee” service was created especially for skiers and riders taking advantage of the increasingly popular multi-resort, multi-state season passes that allow skiers and riders to start their trip in one location—and finish many miles away.

Families enjoy even greater value. For every set of adult performance or demo equipment rented, a junior (age 12 or younger) gets a free rental for the same number of days at selected stores during non-peak periods. Rates vary based on time of season and location but advance reservations receive up to 20 percent off the regular, walk-in daily price.

Rentskis.com keeps a full inventory of gear to meet the needs of “first-timers” to experts looking for the latest technology and high performance skis and boards.  Boots are also available for rent.  Reservations can be made at www.rentskis.com or at 800-544-6648. Renters indicate the most convenient shop for pick up or if they opt for delivery service, a technician brings their selected equipment right to their lodging.

Equipment is grouped into three different categories. Sport Packages are ideal for beginners to intermediates while high intermediates and advance skiers can get more technical boards with the Performance Package. Demos offer the highest performance for advanced intermediate to expert skiers and include the newest makes and models. Snowboarders can choose from Burton’s line including their innovative Learn to Ride equipment or the latest models from Salomon and Ride.
