Gotta love the Internet, especially when a quick search for “skiing” or “snowboarding” will turn up reports from practically every corner of the globe. We just discovered this (unedited) report by the Austrian Independent:

Brilliant snow conditions for start of ski season

Austrian ski resorts are reporting optimal skiing conditions in time for the opening of the ski season.

Some say they have more snow than ever for the time of year especially on glaciers in the popular Austrian ski region of Tirol.

Yesterday (Sunday) more than 7000 skiers visited the Stubtai Glacier where they enjoyed the snowy conditions.

Last week’s snow combined with the snow canons producing more snow mean there are great conditions on the piste.

As well as locals and ski tourists Austrian and international ski racers are also using the great conditions for training.

The lifts have been open in all five Tirolean ski areas since September. The Hintertux area is open all year round.

The glacier areas are getting ready for an increase in skiers around the upcoming public holidays.
