Sunday Chivas USA Gameday & More

Goats Verses Bulls

The best player in MLS -- New York Red Bull Juan Pablo Angel -- visits Carson today, but few are likely to see the 5 p.m. game between Chivas USA and Bruce Arena's team in person.

Much of the club's Mexican-American fan base will no doubt be preoccupied with the noon Mexico-Panama game on Telemundo or the 1 p.m. Brazil-U.S. friendly on ESPN2.

Chivas USA is taking steps to improve its profile and woeful attendance though -- hiring former AEG executiuve Shawn Hunter, who knows all about selling tickets at the HDC, as its new CEO.

Today's game is on Prime Ticket; here's a preview.

Champions Verses Champions?

The U.S. Men's National Team seeks to avoid a fourth consecutive loss, going up against a star-studded Brazilian side it has a 1-11 record against all-time.

The lone win came in the 1998 Gold Cup at the Coliseum when goalkeeper Kasey Keller produced save after spectacular save to keep the Brazilians at bay, prompting Romario to declare it was "the greatest performance I have ever seen by a goalkeeper."

Keller isn't on today's roster for the game between the champions of North and South America.

The U.S. roster, with an average age of 25, is led by Galaxy playmaker Landon Donovan, now tied with Eric Wynalda for most goals all-time (34) for the national team and most goals in a single year (9) as well as most points in a year (21) with Cobi Jones.

Headlining for Brazil: Kaka and Ronaldinho (gulp).
