Real Salt Lake- Chivas USA at Home Depot Center

A curious line-up this evening for Chivas USA Coach Preki.

Dan Kennedy makes his MLS debut in goal, while Sacha Kljestan also starts.

Does that mean Brad Guzan starts in goal Sunday for the U.S. against Barbados instead of Tim Howard? Does it also mean Kljestan won’t even dress tomorrow for the World Cup qualifier?

Your guess is as good as mine.

Also, Jonathan Bornstein returns from injury for the first time since early May – and starts at forward (albeit a withdrawn one apparently) just behind a similarly returning Ante Razov. It’s the first start up front for Bornstein since 2006.

On defense, it’s Carey Talley and Francisco Mendoza as the full backs, with the central defensive partnership of Bobby Burling and Jim Curtin keeping Claudio Suarez and Shavar Thomas on the bench.

In midfield, it’s Kljestan, captain Jesse Marsch and Paulo Nagamura, while Atiba Harris is also named as a forward.

Former Swiss international Raphael Wicky returns from long-term injury and is on the bench, while Jorge Flores drops out of the starting 11.

Real Salt Lake (3-5-3) starts virtually the same line-up that played to a scoreless draw against the Wizards in their last outing, with Argentine Matias Cordoba replacing Andy Williams, who is on international duty with Jamaica.

The game is on KAZA (channel 54).

The starting 11: goalkeeper Nick Rimando; UCLA product Tony Beltran, Nat Borchers, Jamison Olave and Chris Wingert on defense; midfielders are Dema Kovalenko, Cordoba, former Galaxy forward Robbie Findley and Javier Morales; Kyle Beckerman and Kenny Deuchar are up front.

Pasadena City College’s Yura Movsisyan is on the bench.
