Details on the U.S. Women's National Team roster announced Monday that will participate in the Olympics was the subject of my weekly column.

Here's Coach Pia Sundhage on the attributes of USC striker Amy Rodriguez:

"She offers speed and not only speed, if you play to her feet she can turn on a dime and just go. That is important in international games. ... In a foot race she will beat many players.

The U.S. departs Friday for a pair of games in Scandinavia before returning home to play two more before the Olympics begin in August.
