Final Result: Chivas USA-Galaxy

| | Comments (0) |

The game, played in front of a noisy, involved crowd, ended 1-1, a fair result on the night.

The Galaxy equalized after 72 minutes, Edson Buddle latching onto a Pete Vagenas through ball and scoring from an acute angle from about seven yards out for his 11th goal in nine games.

Somehow Chivas USA Coach Preki managed to get himself sent off in the aftermath, apparently for something he said to one of the officials.

Both Chivas USA and the Galaxy came close to finding the winner as the final whistle drew near.

First, a long Jonathan Bornstein pass found Sacha Kljestan lurking at the far post in the 88th minute, but his header connected with the woodwork.

A long Landon Donovan run from inside the Galaxy's own half in stoppage time ended with a pass to substitute Carlos Ruiz, who had only the goalkeeper to beat, but was foiled by Brad Guzan, who may have played his final game for Chivas USA.

He told ESPN2 after the game that "some talks are going on right now" and although he didn't mention Aston Villa specifically he came close to joining the EPL team last summer.
