Incidentally, I heard from Robbie Rogers' dad who said his son got to meet Kobe Bryant at the spectacular opening ceremonies. The U.S. team was apparently not originally slated to attend, but Coach Peter Nowak changed his mind.

Beijing is about 70 miles from the team's training camp.
