Tuesday Wrap: InterLiga & More
Defending InterLiga champion Club America beat Tigres tonight 3-1 before a capacity crowd in Frisco, Texas to move atop the Group B standings.
The Chivas-Atlas game is under way as I write this.
Updated: Chivas also won.
Tickets to Friday's InterLiga doubleheader at Home Depot Center are already at a premium, with an overflow crowd expected and $20 tickets to the grass berm on sale for the 6:30 p.m. Atlas-Club America game that's followed by Tigres UANL against CD Guadalajara.
Also today, former Galaxy defender Ugo Ihemelu and former Chivas USA defender Jason Hernandez were added to the U.S. Training Camp roster in Carson replacing Clarence Goodson and Cory Gibbs.
Finally, much disparaged former Chivas USA striker Matt Taylor (the butt of many a joke in the HDC press box) does a Q&A with fans at Web site Yanks Abroad. The former UCLA striker is a nice guy and deserves his day in the sun. Read the article here.
Updated: Can you say cap space? Galaxy defender Eduardo Dominguez has returned to previous Argentine club Huracan on loan, according to the club's Web site. Dominguez, who appeared hopelessly out of his depth in his two starts for the club, is still listed on the Galaxy's roster as of this writing with no word on his status.
Updated: The Galaxy confirmed Wednesday Dominguez was released.
