Now this is a bit much isn’t it? Beckham neither offered the Galaxy for hire during off-season nor counseled this town to do so. Galaxy greed is still reverberating in quite a few places.

Bella, nobody could have said it any better. We here in Los Angeles have had to put up with Anschutz’s and Leiweke’s greed and arrogance in various ways: gouging fans for parking and concessions, refusing to take responsibility for mistakes, refusing to listen to fans when they’re right in front of you, engaging in obsessive control and spin-doctoring with the media that would have shamed the Soviet Union, making decisions on player personnel that have destroyed team chemistry the past three seasons (and I don’t include Beckham here), throwing the entire team under the bus (including Beckham) publicly.

Don’t you mean….engaging in obsessive control and spin-doctoring with the media that would have shamed the Bush administration….a much better and up-to-date example of sheer incompetence and spin!

Tim Leiweke certainly deserves to be raked over the coals for his mismanagement of the team and all things related to the Galaxy. I just hope that things will turn around after Spice Boy leaves.

Frank, that will only happen if Leiweke is cashiered. The only reason he hasn’t been so far is 1)he has incriminating info on Anschutz that he would reveal if he ever left 2)his behavior reflects the fundamental business values under which AEG operates 3)his ability to make money for AEG in entertainment and revenue management outstrips his colossal incompetence when it comes to operating pro sports teams. I’d bet on 2) and 3) — though 1), as far-feched as it sounds, might not be so far-fetched. Leiweke has done enough things to warrant be fired by any other professional organization.

I meant “venue management,” not “revenue management.”
