Another Beckham Update

| | Comments (2) |

Tim Leiweke told the Associated Press that David Beckham will return to the Galaxy next month.
``We didn't receive an offer today," Leiweke said. "We will abide by the commissioner's wishes, so we are clear at this point that we don't want to have any further conversations."
So Becks is back. Or is this merely another chess move?

"We will abide by the commissioner's wishes," Leiweke says. Of course he will; he and Garber conspired to cook up this deadline. Remember, AEG's Michael Roth said before Garber announced his deadline that AEG had its own deadline that it would not make public. Poppycock; that deadline was Garber's. AEG wanted Garber to announce it so as not to "detract" from his "authority."

I should have said, "that deadline was Leiweke's and AEG's..."
