Full disclosure: I was not there. (It was my mum's 81st birthday - Happy Birthday, mum!)

From the (edited) Chivas USA press release:

Jonathan Bornstein started the scoring for the Red-and-White in the eighth minute, receiving a pass in the box from Eduardo Lillingston and slotting a low shot past Trevor Stiles in the Fusion net. Chivas USA struck again in minute 37, and Lillingston again started the play; his header from a Jamie Franks corner kick was cleared off the line, but the rebound fell to captain Jesse Marsch, who pounded the ball home from close range.

In the 66th minute Chris Cortez hit a 25-yard shot that fooled Fusion goalkeeper Jordan King and found the corner of the net. Justin Braun, who entered the match for Lillingston to start the second session, capped the scoring in the 77th minute, taking a through ball from Franks past King and shooting into the empty goal.

Chivas USA lineup - Dan Kennedy, Jonathan Bornstein (Mariano Trujillo 46), Jim Curtin (Shavar Thomas 46), Leo Bautista, Dan Gargan, Michael Lahoud (Cesar Zamora 46), Paulo Nagamura (Gerson Mayen 46), Jesse Marsch (Diego Scotti 46), Jamie Franks, Eduardo Lillingston (Justin Braun 46), Chris Cortez.

Roster cut down day is Monday.

Lillingston has really made himself a part of the offense (every time I read press releases... it seems he's playmaking).

If his Wikipedia bio is correct, he is a seasoned vet from Mexico (31 years old?), and seems to do well in the preseason games.

Do you think he has MLS chops, and is there room for another "veteran" striker on the team with an already signed Razov?

Nick replies: I have yet to see him kick a ball in a scrimmage or practice. I do know club officials think highly of him, but your question about his age is exactly what I was wondering, too. We're both going to find out the answer later today when MLS rosters are announced. Stay tuned.

Hi Nick: I was at the game yesterday and am a die hard Chivas fan. Great game by the red and white. I was particularly impressed with our back line. Leo Bautista-from Venenzuela - hope he stays - had a great game yesterday, his passing skills from first time touches were on point and showed great poise in the air. Natural left footed central defenders are hard to find and I hope Chivas USA keeps him. At least so we can have 2 ex Galaxy players rip their hearts out!!!

Have you heard anything from mgmt on Leo or other trialists?

Nick replies: Jorge, the scouting report was much appreciated (I couldn't make it to the game Sunday). I expect to hear more from Chivas USA officials this afternoon on roster cuts. As soon as I hear anything, I'll post it. Stay tuned.
