Galaxy 1 Kansas City Wizards 1

Seen this. Heard this. Done this. So I'll keep this short.

A fifth straight draw for the Galaxy tonight. A club record. And eight ties in nine games. And undefeated in nine games.

But said Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman - agreeing with Coach Curt Onalfo - after the 10-men Galaxy scored an 87th minute equalizer to tie it up: "it felt like a loss."

Game story.

Bonus quotes

*Here's Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena on all the ways the Galaxy are getting "better:"

"I thought we played real well. We just get better and better. ... "In every phase of the game we've gotten better. ... Coming from behind and getting a point with 10 men speaks volumes for our team."

*Arena on goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts:

"Donovan Ricketts is a fabulous goalkeeper."

*Here's Galaxy goalkeeping coach Ian Feuer on Kevin Hartman's 82nd minute save of Chris Klein's shot:

"In my eyes, so far, it was the save of the season."

Yeah it was a better performance, still it wasn't enough for a win yet again and could also have easily been a loss.

At least it was a bit exciting (that's almost a first under Arena I think).

Shame Klein's effort was saved so brilliantly by Hartman.

Anywhere else in the world this game would have been called an exciting game except here. What is the matter with you people, reporter included? I thought it was a well played game. It was LA best performance overall this year. I agree with Arena that the team has improved steadily. Given their obvious shortcomings, LA has managed to stay in all of their games. I'm getting my money's worth and then some.
