Final: Galaxy at Toronto

Box score.

Game story.

An economical win to be sure (the Galaxy had just four shots on target), but a win nonetheless over a rudderless Toronto.

The cynic in me now knows how bad a defense needs to be to make Alan Gordon (who had the opening goal and an assist today) look good.

The reporter in me wonders how many more games the now 2-1-9 Galaxy would have won if Edson Buddle, who has now scored his only two goals this season in the last two games, had managed to stay fit.

The fan in me notes there's less than two hours to do Saturday errands and chores before the U.S.-Honduras game begins.

Better. The midfield was more organized and passing was crisper.

Nick, I agree that Toronto was "rudderless," but so was Dallas and the Galaxy midfield looked horrible against them. This was better. Not great, but better. I'll take it and ask for more.

The first goal was a gift (they left Gordon alone to receive the corner kick), but the second goal was well earned by a very nice sequence and a good Buddle finish.

Nick, you're bumming me out now. There is absolutely no pleasure in reading your "reports" on my Galaxy.
I'm signing out of this blah blog. Good luck to you and your striped goats. You deserve each other.

Go US, go LA. And go El Salvador?
