Final: Galaxy-AC Milan

Galaxy 2 AC Milan 2

This game petered out after the two second half goals as one might expect, with AC Milan satisfied to share the spoils and the Galaxy with both Landon Donovan and David Beckham subbed out by game’s end never likely to muster enough creativity to score a winner.

The Beckham boos diminished as the night went on and he actually received an ovation from some sections of the stands when subbed in the 71st minute.

I think most fans will say they got their value for money here tonight though – and you can’t say that about every Galaxy game this season.

More later.

I’m not sure why you say the game petered out or that there was little chance for the Galaxy to score absent Beckham or Donovan. But for a great fingertip save, Patterson’s shot would have found the back of the net. Indeed, the Galaxy was playing great possession ball through the midfield toward the end of the game and creating some chances. Patterson was actually a nice revelation and even Tony Sanneh looked like he had some extra spring in his step.

So now Gordon has a goal against might Milan, can we trade him for Kyle Beckerman?

Wrong…Most of the sections cheered as Beckham left the field. The only ones still booing was the Lars section.
