Beckham and Donovan Make Up

Or so they said after David Beckham’s first official Galaxy training session Monday morning since his return from Europe.

“It’s over,” said David Beckham, who said he had sat down with Donovan and Coach Bruce Arena to hash things out. Donovan, the only Galaxy (or Chivas USA) player named to the MLS All-Star team today for the July 29 game against Everton, had questioned Beckham’s commitment and leadership in the forthcoming book “The Beckham Experiment.”

That was about it in the way of news today, although in truth there is no way to know if that’s true. Shall we assume the body language in this shot is just a coincidence?

“It’s an awkward situation,” said Cobi Jones, Galaxy assistant coach. “It has been handled by the players very well. The overall mood in the locker room is very good.

“We’re looking forward to see what else comes of this,” he added. “Hopefully, nothing negative.”

Hopefully.

I’ll have more in Tuesday’s column.
