U.S. Qualifies for Gold Cup Quarterfinals

Without kicking a ball Thursday night thanks to the chaotic Mexico-Panama game.

Check out the "action" here including the stupidity of Mexican Coach Javier Aguirre at the end of the highlights:

Canada also went through as did Guadeloupe, which beat Nicaragua 2-0 in the first game of the night.

The U.S. plays Haiti at 4 p.m. Saturday on Fox Soccer Channel.

That's Javier being Javier. He hasn't changed a bit. Suit and tie instead of kit and boots hasn't mellowed him a bit. My favorite Mexican player/hacker of all time. Loved him as a youngster with LA Aztecs.

Reminded me of Woody Hays of Ohio State punching the player on the sideline after an interception in 1978.

Of course, Woody got fired for that.
