Chivas USA Sign Brazilian Midfielder

He’s 25-year-old Brazilian forward Maicon Santos, who has trained with the club since Aug. 3.

Santos comes on loan from Brazilian club Bonsucesso and is eligible to play Saturday against Toronto.

“Maicon is a strong forward who can give us a spark in the attacking third,” said Chivas USA Coach Preki, who desperately needs to bolster an anemic attack (last week he signed young striker Jesus Padilla from CD Guadalajara).

Santos has also played for clubs in Tunisia, Libya, and Israel.

Also Friday, Chivas USA placed midfielder Kevin Harmse on the disabled list with right knee tendonitis. Acquired in June from Toronto, the former Galaxy midfielder has yet to play a minute for his latest club.

Wish the Goats more luck with this gem signing than Galaxy’s experiment with Pires last year.

Aren’t there any cheap Brazilian players out there that have some of the attacking flair we associate with them? I can’t think of any in MLS, ever. Maybe the fact that the stupid MLS rule does not let them put their first name only on their shirts stifles their creativity.

Any player would be a significant improvement over that “pig-in-a-poke” Beckham and his boney wife. With all the hoopla over illegal aliens in SoCal, why doesn’t someone call ICE on those two talentless hacks. I can’t help but wonder how many U.S. dollars they have squirreled away into offshore accounts.

Looks to be a good signing for Chivas USA, too bad they can’t even bring in a GK who isn’t injury prone or clumsy (Parker).

I just wished your little team luck with your new player and you hate on Beckham in response? You must be really hurt. Seek help.
