Bonus quotes

Here’s Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena on David Beckham’s contribution, in what was one of his best games in a Galaxy shirt:

“David played a bunch of balls in tonight and our guys needed to be a little bit sharper and read where the ball was going in front off the goal. I think they were a bunch of quality balls he played to the first post and we were a little late getting there. David’s second half was better than his first.”

Here’s Beckham on his near miss late in the game:

“I didn’t hit it as well as I could have done; if I’d put it in the far corner it probably would have gone in. But one-nil is one-nil, we’re happy with it.”

BTW: The meds aren’t working for regular left back Todd Dunivant apparently. Arena observed that Todd Dunivant had suffered a sinus infection over the last four to six weeks and that was the reason for the defensive switch Friday night of Sean Franklin and A.J. DeLaGarza for him.
