Shoulder Injury Sidelines U.S. Midfielder Dempsey for Honduras WCQ Saturday
From the U.S. Soccer press release:
Dempsey has been diagnosed with a shoulder sprain and will not be available for the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Honduras on Oct. 10 in San Pedro Sula.Dempsey, who sits in second place amongst U.S. goalscorers in 2010 qualifying with five goals, will be evaluated throughout the week to determine his availability for the USA's final qualifier against Costa Rica on Oct. 14 in Washington, D.C.
Dempsey left in the 84th minute of Fulham's 2-2 draw at West Ham on Sunday, and underwent an MRI evaluation earlier today. No replacement player will be added to the roster prior to Saturday's match.
Also: former Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Wicks will miss (at the very least) next year's edition of the U.S. Cup - in its entirety.

So, who do you think will take Clint's spot in the starting lineup? Holden is the most likely candidate based on position (RM), but Feilhaber is the most experienced midfielder on the bench (assuming Bradley and Clark are the DMs).
I'd like to see more of Feilhaber, but positionally I agree with you re Holden. Is there room for Torres in that midfield I wonder?
Bradley can't afford to play 4-4-2 in that game. He must pack it in the middle with some muscle initially. So expect to see the Bradley-Clark combo there. He also needs a punching bag up front so Ching goes up there instead of Altidore. Donovan slides in the middle as a withdrawn striker with Holden and Torres on the outsides. Back line will be any of the usual combination, but I like some more size in there with the big strikers they have. So, slide Boca to the outside left and pray. Gooch and Goodson in the middle with Cherundolo on the right. I'll take this tie any day.
Update to my line up: Slide in Heyduk for Cherundolo since he's been called up. Wish we had 11 more with his passion and determination on our side of the field.
