Win Tickets to Friday's Western Conference Galaxy-Houston Dynamo Final in Carson

The two contests between the Dynamo and the Galaxy this season were tense, tight affairs.

Back on June 28, the Dynamo visited Home Depot Center riding a club-record 11-game unbeaten streak, while the Galaxy were tied with the fewest wins in MLS with New York (seems an eon ago doesn't it?). The Galaxy took three shots on goal and scored on one of them to take the win.

(BTW, the second game between the two teams on Oct. 18 in Houston produced a scoreless tie).

So the obvious question: who scored the only goal the two teams managed in their two MLS contests this season?

E-mail the answer to nick.green at dailybreeze.com by NOON Thursday to win one of four pairs of tickets to the game, courtesy of the Galaxy (do not put the answer in the comment section unless you want plenty of competition for the tickets). Please include the city you live in with your answer. Also, if you won tickets last week you are ineligible to win this week (and you might want to check out the link at the end of the post).

I'll announce the winners here Thursday afternoon.

Friday's game should be just as close, one would think.

Tickets for the game, BTW, start at $24 and are available here.

I guess they're having trouble filling the Home Depot Center for this game. I've gotten a barrage of e-mails offering heavily discounted tickets for people affiliated with AYSO and Cal-South and now this. I didn't see anything like this for the Chivas game (although I did for the first game when Chivas was at home).

Unfortunately, that's one of the 'realities' of MLS.

Unless you're one of the new franchises (TFC, Seattle) who should really consider themselves lucky to draw the interest that they draw, for the rest of the teams, selling tickets on a 4 day notice is hard. Selling tickets for a weeknight game when a lot of people would have to double-time it from work: even harder.

Even so, I understand they're expecting a sell-out and from my conversation with my ticket rep, sales are picking up which has them "rumbling" about opening up the upper deck. Not too shabby.

Without LA Galaxy following the "vs." I doubt Chivas USA, among other league teams, would be able to sell more than 11k in similar circumstances.

Let me answer your question, Nick:

1. Duncan McKenzie?

2. Johnny Giles?

3. John McGovern?

4. Robbie Findley? (Should have been the right answer if the L and L Boys -- Lalas and Leiweke -- weren't so desperate....)
