Torrance's Shannon Boxx went to St. Louis Athletica with the first pick, as many expected.

Now the Sol is truly no more.

hmmmm.....the league can BS all they want about OPEN Drafts, etc. But when Marta goes to FC Gold Pride as the 3rd pick, someone is full of it. Large Brazilian population in SF so that was where she would be figured to go, but the league could have faked some sort of trade to make it look credible.

There probably is behind the scenes stuff going on with Marta as there was last year when the Sol drafted her without the number 1 pick. But, I have to wonder how her salary played into the teams decisions. As the Sol proved, its great to have great players, but you have to be able to pay them too.
