Beckham on Letterman tonight

I haven’t liked Letterman for years, but I like him a whole lot better now after David nails David with a couple of zingers in this interview excerpt many Galaxy fans will wholeheartedly agree with:

    I’m shocked, shocked that you might suggest Galaxy fans would agree to Letterman’s implication that Beckham playing year-round at world-class intensity without allowing recovery from the wear and tear of an MLS season had *anything* do do with his injury.

    No one could have predicted it.

    By the way, I have some oil leases to sell you on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico…

    Here’s a serious question: Does anybody who doesn’t follow soccer still connect Beckham with the Galaxy? If so, to what degree? I wonder if these TV appearances really help either the Galaxy or MLS if he can’t play.

    Thank You Letterman for saying it how it is and that no other talk show had the balls to speak the truth! Or just oblivious on the situation.
