I don’t know what’s more unusual, the fact Edson Buddle didn’t score or that here we have a rare photo of Galaxy owner Uncle Phil Anschutz laughing it up with Assistant Coach Cobi Jones (referred to inexplicably in the AP Photo caption as an “unidentified member of the Galaxy”).
Alan Gordon’s well-timed diving header from a Landon Donovan free kick (the goals from set pieces are back) was the difference on the scoreboard.

It was the Galaxy’s fifth shutout in seven games.
