Chivas USA camouflage night Saturday

No, it’s not, (as my editor suggested), fans coming disguised as empty seats (ahem).

It’s San Jose’s Jesus Padilla, right, et al honoring the nation’s military with a special camouflage jersey at the game on Armed Forces Night against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Home Depot Center:i-738e4846fc249836d0ff2a9a292db376-PADILLACAMO0001.jpg

The first 7,500 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Armed Forces hat.

In attendance: Military personnel from Edwards Air Force Base, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Fort Irwin, Marine Corps Logistics Base, China Lake Naval Weapons Center, Port Hueneme Naval Base, and Port Mugu Pacific Missile Test Center, as well as USO locations including Palm Springs, Bob Hope, San Diego, and Ontario.

Also there will be a color guard, Marine coin toss, service member singing the National Anthem, and children of Armed Forces members serving as “ball kids.”

Call 1-877-CHIVAS-1 for tickets.

And as the city of Torrance reporter for the Daily Breeze in my other life, I’d be remiss for failing to note the city’s upcoming Armed Forces Day Celebration.
