Chivas USA defender Jonathan Bornstein of Las Alamitos threw out the first pitch at today’s Dodger game against the Colorado Rockies. His mom, Rachelle, was the catcher during the ceremonial first pitch.

Tweeted Jonny:

Just threw out the first pitch. Huge success and my mom did amazing!!! Best dodger moment of my life.

Also today, Nelson Castro, 14, of Houston won the nationally-televised player search Sueo MLS 2010 today at Home Depot Center.

Remember the defender’s name: The original winner, forward Jorge Flores of Anaheim, is now entering his fourth year with Chivas USA. The 2008 winner, Gabriel Funes, is now with Argentina’s River Plate.
