England, which meets U.S. in the two nation’s respective group openers June 12 named its 23-man England squad today.

U.S. fans fretting about their own teams’ fragile defenders, midfielders that tend to disappear and inexperienced international class attackers can take some consolation in this England unit though, widely considered to have a lack of depth and injury-prone players

For what it’s worth the holdovers from the 2006 squad: David James, Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard, captain Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole,
Jamie Carragher, Rooney, Carrick, Lennon and Crouch.

Meanwhile, Slovenia has also named its squad to considerably less attention.
