Good morning

It’s the big one.

The most anticipated game of the first round.

Kick off is at 11:30 a.m. on ABC.

Now we’ll find out whether the current U.S. jersey that recalls the design of 1950 was an inspired choice or simply tested fate.

I’m an English-born fan and scribe who has lived in the U.S. most of my life. Do I have to choose a winner? I’m just glad this game is the first in the group and not the last. I know how these folks feel.

I can’t lose!

Here’s what you think will happen.

If I were Bob Bradley:

Tim Howard, Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu, Jay Demerit, Steve Cherundolo, Landon Donovan, Jose Torres, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey, Edson Buddle, Jozy Altidore

The edge.

From U.S. Soccer:

The new away jersey will make its World Cup debut against England as the U.S. will wear the navy kit in their opening match. The away jersey is navy with a white sash and white trim on the round neck collar and a touch of red on the sleeves, while the home jersey is traditional white with a shadow-like gray sash, navy trim on the round neck collar and a touch of red on the sleeves. Designed by Nike with the national culture and identity of the U.S. in mind, the jersey echoes the uniform worn by the U.S. Men’s National Team during the 1950 FIFA World Cup in which they defeated England 1-0 in one of the biggest upsets in the history of soccer.

Where to watch.
