Game story

The game of the tournament produced the result of the tournament so far in an enthralling back and forth contest worthy of the World Cup.

Disciplinarian Dunga will not be happy with the way his team lost their composure and went a man down after an unnecessary stamp by a clearly rattled Felipe Melo as the Dutch pressed in the second half. And an incredible save by the Dutch goalkeeper at about the half hour mark in the first half kept the Netherlands in the game.

Incidentally, it should be acknowledged after what we’ve previously seen in the tournament that this was a superbly officiated game that allowed the players decide the result.

And does this install the Dutch as tournament favorites now?

Whew!
