Final: Seattle Sounders at Galaxy

Galaxy 3 Seattle Sounders 1

The Galaxy ran their MLS-leading record to 11-1-3 before a capacity crowd of 27,000, easily disposing of a shaky Seattle team that doesn’t bear much resemblance to the formidable outfit we saw last year.

You got the feeling the Galaxy weren’t playing flat out – and didn’t need to – to win this one handily.

Goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts denied Mike Seamon, who shot from 19 yards in stoppage time, with a fine save to ensure the Galaxy didn’t concede an unnecessary late goal.

By the way, Edson Buddle’s opening goal was his league-leading 10th goal in 10 games.
