Seattle Sounders (4-7-3) at Galaxy (10-1-3)

As the Galaxy season hits the halfway point this evening it appears we have a likely capacity crowd at Home Depot Center, with fans already filling up the grass berm as LA and Seattle meet for the first of two games in four days.

Goals are on the Galaxy’s collective mind tonight with U.S. internationals Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle returning from the World Cup and LA seeking to score after being held without a goal in back to back MLS games for the first time this season.

The two are the only changes to the starting lineup from the last MLS game, a 0-0 with Toronto in Canada, which means Van Nuys’ Tristan Bowen makes his sixth consecutive MLS start, preferred yet again to veteran Alan Gordon. But it is the first time Buddle and Bowen have started together up front. Alex Cazumba and Jovan Kirovski have dropped to the bench, by the way, to make room for Donovan and Buddle.

Buddle must watch himself tonight though; both he and Juninho are on yellow card warnings meaning both could miss the next game by picking up a booking against Seattle.

Yet the Galaxy are also looking for their 11th clean sheet in 15 games; they have conceded just four all season long.

The Galaxy lineup: Donovan Ricketts, Sean Franklin, Omar Gonzalez, Gregg Berhalter, Todd Dunivant, Landon Donovan, Chris Birchall, Juninho, Michael Stephens, Edson Buddle, Tristan Bowen.

The Sounders, losers of their last two, have Freddie Ljungberg and former Galaxy captain Pete Vagenas in midfield.

The Seattle lineup: Kasey Keller, James Riley, Jeff Parke, Tyrone Marshall, Leo Gonzalez, Freddie Llungberg, Patrick Ianni, Pete Vagenas, Steve Zakuani, Fredy Montero, Pat Noonan.

The game is live on ESPN2.
