Chivas USA win first game since May – in U.S. Open Cup

It was also Chivas USA’s first win in eight games.

Justin Braun scored on two of his three shots to lead the Goats past the Dynamo, the club’s first-ever win in Houston.

Said Chivas USA Coach Martin Vasquez:

“This win is going to help us. We came in very convinced, serious, disciplined; the guys worked extremely hard and they see that if they work together… they can beat anybody.”

Anybody amounted to the Houston reserves, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Chivas USA lineup: Zach Thornton, Mariano Trujillo, Michael Umana, Yamith Cuesta, Ante Jazic (Carlos Borja 66), Marcelo Saragosa, Michael Lahoud, Blair Gavin (Dario Delgado 71), Ben Zemanski, Jesus Padilla (Gerson Mayen 77), Justin Braun.

Substitutes Not Used: Jorge Flores, Osael Romero, Chukwudi Chijindu, Dan Kennedy.
