Javierutddebut.jpgNew United hero? Javier Hernandez, the first Mexican to play for Manchester United, scores on his debut in front of an adoring Mexican-American crowd in Houston and the Red Devils head to Guadalajara to sell replica jerseys with his name on the back to play Chivas Friday in a match that was a condition of his transfer from the club (AP Photo).

In a spectacle more about marketing than soccer, Manchester United smoothly dispatched the MLS All-Stars 5-2 Wednesday in Houston with a minimum of fuss and heightened the anticipation for their impending arrival in Guadalajara by sending on Mexican international Javier Hernandez who duly applied the finishing touch with a goal that oozed class in the 84th minute on his Red Devils debut.
