Chivas USA Camp Update

Chivas USA is training this week in the bucolic surroundings of the Central Coast community of Templeton.
In their honor I cracked an excellent Zinfandel from Castoro Cellers this evening paired with a skinless chicken breast and mushroom risotto.
What else gets better with age?

Update to the update (really)
*Mexican veterans Joaquín Beltrán, 33, and goalkeeper Dmitri Gonzalez are no longer in camp with the team.
*However, both CD Guadalajara goalkeeper Sergio Arias, 22, and former Chivas USA favorite Panchito Mendoza continue to attempt to earn MLS contracts.
*Neither striker Justin Braun nor goalkeeper Dan Kennedy are in camp. Both are recovering from injury. Braun sustained an injury during the recent USMNT camp at Home Depot Center; Kennedy is recovering from off-season surgery.

Sportswriter Nick Green has written the 100 Percent Soccer column since 2005 for the Daily News, Daily Breeze and other Los Angeles area newspapers. The blog of the same name began in 2007. A native of England, he began writing about soccer in the mid-1980s and in 2000 permanently exchanged a seat in the stands for one in the press box.
