*The Special One says he eventually wants to coach in MLS - and the Galaxy are one of his top two choices. Good luck with that commute from Malibu to the South Bay though, Jose.

*Former Chivas USA defender Jonny Bornstein got his first assist with Tigres, supplying the cross that led to their opening goal in a 2-0 win Sunday over Santos Laguna.

*Youth club LAFC, formerly associated with England's Chelsea, cut ties over the weekend with the New York Cosmos. More details here.

The separation of LAFC and the Cosmos has to do with Coast Soccer League's bar on the participation of any teams that are fully funded by a professional club. CSL tried to bar all of LAFC's teams from playing in the league last year because of the Cosmos sponsorship(including those lower-level teams that were not funded by the Cosmos) and it was probably just easier to formally separate the two entities than to continue their affiliation. That's why the Galaxy and Chivas have only academy teams and aren't formerly affiliated with any area of clubs (even though that might make sense for establishing a pipeline for the little kids etc).

Chelsea reportedly never provided money for any of the LAFC teams, although that was originally contemplated.
