Full disclosure: Pressing family matters (thank you to the Galaxy PR staff for their kind words) kept me from seeing virtually all of tonight's game except for the YouTube highlights.
Doesn't sound like I missed much, though. It looked to me the largely impotent Galaxy were more fortunate to escape with a point at home than their opponents.
I don't care what Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena says, however, this is a team that looked woeful without Landon Donovan (that's no crime considering we're talking about the best all-time U.S. player, is it?) And JPA was dropped completely? Whoa!
Hard to argue with a seven-game undefeated streak and four consecutive shutouts though. Isn't it?

Should have been a 2-0 win for DC. saw them dismantle Timbers in Portland in person and gave LA fits here.
Juninho was pulled at half time for Kirovsky, must be carrying an injury that no one talks about.
Juninho apparently left with an ankle injury he reportedly first suffered in NE. He was so sure he was leaving at the half, he exchanged jerseys with him at that time. Hard to see why we brought in Kirovski for him and not Stephens.
Angel came in with a calf injury and didn't make the 18.
How did Beckham play?
Boring game -- they were tired and slow -- but a point and they're now at 30.
Tough to play 7 games in 5 weeks, but they've done all right (4-1-2). They're now 8-2-6 and one game away from halfway through the season.
I'm looking at points. If they play this well the second half and finish with let's say 60 points, they'll be fine. 60 points would have won all but two Supporters Shield competitions in the history of the league. (Yeah, I know, more games now, but you see what I mean.) And 4 losses would tie the best team ever (post-LD San Jose in 2005).
Not that I expect that, of course...
