Seattle slams Galaxy's U.S. Open Cup shut

it was written, no surprise in the result. But I was surprised with Arena's half-hearted "serious" approach to the game by using many first teamers but throwing in the towel early by removing Donovan right after Seattle went up by 2. Saunders was not steady at all in goal and Berhalter and De La Garza pairing was disastrous in the middle.
I'm glad they lost. I want the MLS Cup, and the Galaxy don't have the depth to play for both this year.
Two fewer Open Cup games to play during the MLS season means less wear-and-tear, fewer chances for injury, less chance Seattle will contend for the MLS Cup.
Now, if they could just push those stupid "friendlies" into the off-season...
