Poll: What do you think of the Galaxy’s move to sign EPL veteran Robbie Keane?

Good move or bad? Or should the Galaxy have just given Edson Buddle more money in the first place (and, yeah, I should have probably made that an option in the poll)?

Watch the Keane highlight reel (admittedly a few years old):

Then take the poll (keeping in mind the results of a similar poll taken at this blog before the Galaxy signed JPA):

What do you think of the Galaxy’s move to acquire veteran EPL striker Robbie Keane?
Finally! A proven goalscorer who is the final piece of the puzzle to bring the club an MLS Cup this year.
Not again! Enough with the old guys from Europe looking to make a buck off MLS.
I couldn’t care less. I follow the WPS/Chivas USA/ fill in the blank

It’s a good move at this time of the season. It would have been a much better move had it happened at this time last year as Buddle needed a striking partner. The Galaxy offence was anemic last year as well so paying Buddle more money to keep him in LA by himself was no solution. The real question is for the amount of money wasted on Angel added to what Keane is going to get paid could Galaxy have put together a better combo and I would have to say YES.

This is great news, Keane is a top quality EPL player. Can’t wait to see him.

Not only that, but his time in Scotland showed that he can still score bags of goals despite clumsy and violent challenges from slow defenders : A skill he will frequently need in MLS.

Had high hopes when the Galaxy signed Angel, sadly it did not work out.

Hope Keane fits better and scores much more goals.
