Galaxy CONCACAF Champions League Post-game

Galaxy 2 Alajuelense 0

Game story

Watch:

Quotable:

“They play a different game – quickness – not the same style of physicality (you see in MLS),” said Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena. “It was an important experience for us.”

Mike Magee agreed with that assessment:

They’re more technical than most MLS teams ,” he said. “They have a little bite to them.”

The standings.

Next for the Galaxy in the CONCACAF CL: at Morelia Sept. 13.

Terrible report, is this dude a paid professional writer? the box score is more insightful than his game report.

Red seemed a little harsh on Junhino… but, I can’t defend him too much. No reason to have the elbows out like that at that point in the game.

It was kind of a weird game, the super small crowd set the tone and the rest followed. Obviously the Referee was awful, fussy, and officious he really spoiled the game. Im still a big Beckham fan; despite what everyone else thinks, he has been great this year but this yakking to officials is really getting old. You could tell he was going to talk his way into a yellow card and he succeeded. I think the Galaxy should take action and discipline him over it. Hes not the team captain and this behavior makes the team look bad.

As for the Galaxy I thought it was a good performance, Alajuelense were extremely disciplined, and maintained a great shape, although they never really looked like scoring. Great to see Omar score again, I love that kid hes the John Terry of MLS. I think the Champions League is interesting its a shame more people are not coming out to the games.

The Galaxy is either unable or unwilling to control Beckham in any way.
