Thursday Kicks: LD splits time with USMNT, Galaxy & more

*Galaxy playmaker Landon Donovan will play for the U.S. Friday in Carson, but skip next week’s game in Belgium per an agreement between U.S. Soccer and the club that means he won’t miss Monday’s MLS game against Kansas City.

*Jorge Luis Pinto of Colombia has agreed to return as coach of Costa Rica’s national soccer team, according to AP. He was fired during Costa Rica’s 2006 World Cup campaign.Interim coach Ronald Gonzalez is in charge for Friday’s game against the U.S. at Home Depot Cente. Pinto’s first match as coach would appear to be the Oct. 7 at home against Brazil.

*Confirming a move announced several days ago via Twitter, Chivas USA announced Wednesday that the club has loaned forward Tristan Bowen of Van Nuys to K.S.V. Roeselare of Belgium’s Second Division through April. The former Galaxy striker signed with Chivas USA before the season began and played for a total of 60 minutes over three games.
