*The U.S.-Costa Rica game kicks off at 8 p.m. at Home Depot Center (live ESPN2). Plenty of tickets are available. The 24,500-seat stadium may be around half full for the game.

Staff writer Phil Collin has the game preview.

Here's more on the philosophy of Jurgen Klinsmann and what we learned from his first game in charge of the U.S. against Mexico from earlier in the week.

Here's more from the USMNT blog.

I plan to blog from the game.

*Galaxy forward Robbie Keane is back in Ireland for a Euro 2012 qualifier and the Irish press sound a little disappointed he hasn't more insights into Southern California after what, all of several days. More here.

While we're talking about the Galaxy, here are highlights of the reserve game Thursday against the Timbers in Portland:

*The Galaxy have just two games left in the reserve league season - both in Carson. Price of admission to the games: Free.

The Galaxy are first in MLS - and bringing up the rear in the reserve league.
