I know Sigi Schmid would like nothing better than return to the area where he grew up and coached his hometown Galaxy and play his old club come November at MLS Cup in Carson. But first he needs to win an actual postseason game or two.

It's strange to think that a coach with as many wins and as much experience as Schmid has never won a playoff game in three seasons in Seattle, let alone a series, but it's true. And scoring more than one postseason goal might help, too.

Schmid can change that starting tonight against Real Salt Lake in Utah.

Incidentally, it sounds like the Red Bulls expect tamismanic striker Luke Rodgers to return for Sunday's game in New Jersey against the Galaxy.

Oh, and MLS Cup at Home Depot Center is now 23 days away.
