A piece of soccer history to call their own
In the wake of the Galaxy's MLS Cup triumph Sunday, the first 2,011 season ticket holders to have their picture taken with the trophy at Home Depot Center also received a 1'x1' piece of the field the Galaxy won their third MLS championship on, including care instructions. (Thanks to loyal reader Studs for the picture).
"My mission: keep it green until they win the next one!" Studs said via email.
The Galaxy are sending the cup out to various events throughout Southern California on what the club has dubbed the Trophy Tour.
The tour comes to ESPN Zone at LA Live and the Kings game at Staples Center on Thursday (it will also appear in Palos Verdes Estates Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the city's tree lighting ceremony).
