Nick,
Do you believe Beckham will chase the money and run?

WITHOUT BECK I WANT MY SEASON TICKET MONEY BACK
MAYBE THEY WILL LET US TAILGAT NOW BECAUSE THERE WILL BE MORE ROOM
Hm. Shows how important it was to acquire Robbie Keane in August. The G's with no Beckham doesn't have to be a disaster.
Post-World Cup I think Donovan decided to go to school on Beckham, to watch and learn how Beckham saw the game and to become a more Beckham-style player. In the past year for the G's and especially for the USMNT, Donovan has shifted his game away from open field attacking and more toward provision. I think he did this to lengthen his USMNT career, but also to prepare for a new Galaxy role post-Beckham.
As this season has gone on, we have seen an increase in Donovan delivering the ball from midfield, especially from the wings. He's obviously not as good at it as Beckham, but there aren't many players who see the field that well and can deliver a bending, pinpoint ball. Donovan still works best in open field attacking and interchanges with Keane (as in the Cup-winning goal), and we won't see as much of that next year if Donovan works more outside of the penalty area. Still, with good targets he could become an assist-master, and he's already better at it than anyone in MLS other than Brad Davis at Houston.
Wins is wins and points is points. They still look the favorites to repeat for the Supporters Shield.
Smart move on Beckham's behalf.
As a football player its obvious that he doesn't have much to offer, but as a model/celebrity he is still doing quite well.
I still think that there is a chance that Beckham will stay on.
Beckham is also considering not only himself, but Victoria as well. It would be extra trouble for them as they are English in a French country. Not sure if Victoria minds sending her children to international schools.
In LA, there is no problem of that or whatsoever. They have also made many great friends here in LA as well, socially, it's going to be hard for them to move.
